>>>Darkness falls ...
Despair abounds ...
Evil reigns ...

Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have just saved the rebel state from destruction by the mighty forces of King Galbatorix, cruel ruler of the Empire. Now Eragon must travel to Ellesméra, land of the elves, for further training in magic and swordsmanship, the vital skills of the Dragon Rider. It is the journey of a lifetime, filled with awe-inspiring new places and people, each day a fresh adventure. but chaos and betrayal plague him at every turn, and Eragon isn't sure whom he can trust.

There is already an Australian bookring for Eragon but none, yet, for Eldest so I thought that I might start one myself.

WARNING: This is a BIG book and weighs almost 1 kilo so it will be expensive to post.

This is a very long book and encompasses the education of Eragon as a dragonrider climaxing in a battle between the Empire and the Varden.

It poses more questions than it answers and would never stand alone. It must be read after 'Eragon' and before 'Inheritance'.

I enjoyed this book very much but found myself skipping over the flowery and somewhat archaic language. The bond between Eragon and Saphira is especially charming.

Received yesterday. Thank you pinkozcat.

A great read and I will definitely be seeking out Inheritance as soon as it is released but I too skipped over parts as I became impatient during the many chapters on Eragon's training and Roran's ordeal. I just wanted the action to start and the reunion to happen! I notice there are lots more characters to keep track of in this book compared to Eragon but Paolini handles it really well and the writing has really matured. Now I think he just needs a ruthless editor. Thanks for starting this ring pinkozcat. I will send it on next week.

This book has landed! It's a mammoth of a book alright! Time to get cracking on Eragon, hee hee.... And a BIG THANK YOU to goodthinkingmax for all the extra goodies! You have turned my not-so-good day into a splendid one! :) Thanks again to all, and I promise I will focus on Eragon and Eldest and have them passed on shortly.

Hurrah, I have finally finished this! I enjoyed this a lot more than Eragon, I was much more comfortable with the story, and although it was still quite long-winded in parts, there were more exciting things happening in this segment of the story. I also felt the Eragon-Saphira relationship was much better established in this book, in Eragon, I sometimes felt they were conversing like lovers! Which disturbed me, ever so slightly, hee hee. I also did not expect the (spoiler: hidden) Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader moment (not quite, but close enough), although I should have seen it coming as there was always that "gap" to address and it could have been anticipated. I am looking forward to the final book in the series and to see how the final battle will pan out, where I assume Eragon will finally meet Galbatorix. Thanks pinkozcat for staring bookrings for this engaging series, I will send Eldest on once I have Quilted-Elf's mailing addres.

RELEASE NOTES:

As Quilted-Elf has not responded to PMs for a mailing address, I will be sending this one to Fleebo instead. This will be mailed out via a prepaid 3kg satchel and I will drop this off at the post office tomorrow.

Received today, thanks. I will endeavour to read it very soon, but I do have three bookrings ahead of it, each book almost as large as this one. After that I will send it to Quilted-Elf, who unfortunately responded to leeny37's PM just after it was posted to me!

Ah, just what I needed. This may be a big book but it was very easy reading after the turbulent books I've read lately - bog-standard fantasy done well. I am not one for guessing endings but I will be truly shocked if the next book doesn't turn out exactly as I expect - I am quite sure that plot spoiler hidden by leeny37 is going to carry through to the end.
Lots of fun. Thanks very much for the ring. I already have Quilted-Elf's address so I'll get it in the post very soon.

Well this one was definately an improvement on the last one. Everything is getting interesting, especially at the end, however there are so many questions unanswered that I suspect that the third book is going to be a mammoth one!

Awaiting instructions on where to send!

Please wild release the book as that is what I would do if it was returned to me.

Please would you make a journal entry when you do so because I don't get notification of a release.
