This harsh thriller is set during the first Gulf War and features scenes of shocking brutality and an amoral military technology designer. Meanwhile, two autistic savant young people have extraordinary powers which a sympathetic science journalist is trying to assess. But the evil arms developer will stop at nothing to harness their power for himself...

I found this book under the wind wand on the Sea Front in New Plymouth on Friday October 14th 2005. Me and my boyfriend had gone travelling around New Zealand for a month and it was coming to the end of our stay.
I planned to red the book and take it home to England. I'm still not sure where I am going to leave it.
I apologise for leaving it so long to read Savant, but when I finally picked it up, I couldn't put it down. It does have some quite brutal scenes in it that might offend some people, but for me they just added to the suspense side of things and made me want to carry on reading to find out if the characters I cared about were going to pull through. Perhaps reading some of Stephen King's books first made me slightly immune...I don't know.
I don't really want to spoil Savant for anyone and the plot is basically as freesia described it, but with a few twists. As you read through the book, the main characters become more prominent and you find yourself being sucked in.
Promise I will finish soon! Perhaps my favourite character in the book was Khalid because his struggle seemed the hardest. I have given the book a 10 rating because I haven't read a book that gripped me this much in a long time and as soon as I had finished, I found that I wanted to read it all over again.
I'm planning to release the book within the week so keep an eye out!

Well, I released it. I left it under the Neptune statue on the Bristol waterfront, England at about 2:00pm on Wednesday the 15th March 2006.
Looking forward to seeing where you end up next!

Journal Entry 7 by Moselyhall from Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Thursday, August 10, 2006
I picked up this book in a hotel book swop whilst on holiday and not being an avid book reader really slogged to the end of this but was determined to bring it home and join the system I will probably now give it to a friend to take on holiday
