Thanks! I received it today (Sept 26th) in the post. Currently, I'm in the middle of two other books, but at least one of them is moving along quickly. I shouldn't have any trouble keeping this one going!

I'm going to PM Breeze144 so I have an address when it's time to pass it on.

Journal Entry 6 by buffra from Columbus, Ohio USA on Thursday, September 29, 2005
Nancy Chan is a high-class private call girl in Manhattan. She’s also an engaged woman and her fiance is pushing her to set a wedding date. Her future sister-in-law keeps pressing to meet the other bridesmaids -- two “professional colleagues.” And then there’s the headache of the real-estate market.
One would think that was trouble enough, but then there are her two best friends -- who bond unreasonably over Atkins. One of them is trying to become a “sex worker” activist, is being stalked, and has a crush on someone Nancy knows a little too well. The other has her own secrets.
This book details Nancy’s struggles to keep all the pieces of her life from colliding with one another.
***

I don’t usually read Chick Lit, which I think this is; something about it just doesn’t really appeal to me. Perhaps its self-consciousness? It was an OK book, at times pretty entertaining. But there were too many storylines going on at once (for instance, the Charmaine bit seemed completely pointless!) for them to be sufficiently developed. The biggest weakness, in my opinion, was the ending. I don’t want to post a spoiler (especially not in a ring!) but I thought it was a cop-out.

Mailed off to Breeze144 on Oct 1.

received today!

Whoa, racy book!

I love chick lit, where the conflict is so trivial and funny, so this book met that criteria hands down. What surprised me was the casual and constant sex discriptions! Maybe the title should've given that away but...still...it was a lot!

Anyway, overall, I like this book. It was entertaining and funny at points but not the kind of book to recommend to my mother or other family members!

Reserved for PRCS - to be sent out next week!

I really enjoyed this book, even though I usually dont care for chick-lit. (I wish that all books would quit comparing themselves to Bridget Jones, I really found it boring and unreadable!) I liked the ending, though it never really says if she was honest to Matt or not.
I am a visual person and I would have liked to see the pic of the author that the Bookcrossing label covered up :+) Thanks for letting us read this. I will get it in the mail after the holidays!

Arrived this morning - thank you and I really look forward to reading all the "bad girl secrets"

Journal Entry 15 by droogie from Nottingham, not specified not specified on Sunday, March 19, 2006
An entertaining read though I wouldn't say it was 'chock-full of bad-girl secrets' as the cover promised (unless you count the tip to make sure you sort your rubbish so it's not incrimating :)

I found the end a little strange and I would have liked more explanation, it seemed to me the author almost couldn't be bothered to explain her way out of the situation she had set up but it was an entertaining and I enjoyed reading it overall

Journal Entry 16 by sweetf from Bridgwater, Somerset United Kingdom on Sunday, March 26, 2006
It wasn't the worst book I've ever read but i've definitely read better. And I agree that the ending seemed rushed and some of the storylines were incomplete.

Will e-mail the next on the list and post on.

Caught in the post this morning. I have a few other (short) ray books in front of this this. But I am now free from exams! Yipee! Thanks to Purplerose73 and Rosella05 for sharing :-)

Journal Entry 19 by rem_XIV-590003 on Wednesday, May 17, 2006
Please excuse the intrusion, I almost forgot to comment on this one.

I was expecting to read a story that would give me an insight into the life of a call girl but it does that only superficially and the rest of the book is not entertaining enough to compensate for it. Like others I've also found the ending to be rushed and unsatisfying. Good sex tips though :) !!

Journal Entry 20 by Drusillamac from Glasgow, Scotland United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 24, 2006
Don't ask me why but I thought this book was a non-fiction book when I signed up! I was a tad confused when I saw it being compared to Bridget Jones on the back.

I only started this book a few days ago and found it rather quick and easy to read. Some of the scenes were racy but I've read more raunchy books ;-) I was slightly sceptical about Nancy's escape to London - surely she didn't earn enough money to buy a plane ticket? Or maybe I skimmed over that part. It's possible.

I loved Jasmine's character. The best bit was in the NYCOT meeting - some of the discussion reminded me of certain online feminist communities. Even career snobbery exists in the sex industry ;-) Loved the tongue in cheek storyline about Jason writing a novel about Mary Magdalene!

Not a bad book and maybe one I would recommend to someone for a weekend away. Off to Sarradee when I get an address.

That didn't take to long to get here. I'm in the middle of another book, but I will start this ASAP to keep it moving along on its journey. Thanks Purplerose for making this into a ring.

Journal Entry 23 by sarradee from Mansfield, Texas USA on Monday, June 5, 2006
Well, that was a quicker read than I expected since I started on it this morning!

I agree that the ending was a bit rushed, it was as though the author just ran out of ideas all of a sudden. Other than that I thought it was pretty amusing, and not a total waste of my time to read. I liked Jasmine's character the best of the three girls, and also thought Liane was a hoot as the elderly madam.

The subplots were a bit contrived, and their resolutions may have been what painted the author into the ending. I'm not going to say any more for fear of spoilers.

PM'ed Angelfirestar for her address, I'll update this post when I have an address.

I mailed this to angelfirestar on 6/6/06.
