I've been wanting to read this current Pulitzer Prize winner for some time. The lists at the library were too long. I'm glad to have an early paperback to read and share with bookcrossing. This book probes American religious practice. I don't know that much about it, other than the fact that Marilynne Robinson is known for her scholarship and writing style. I've been wanting for *Gilead* to surprise me. I hope it will. I will let you know.

I love Robinson's HOUSEKEEPING and I did look forward to this one. But I never could immerse myself in it. Not because the writing wasn't fine or the characterization. I was just involved with someone dying for a long time and it was too painful to read a story told from the viewpoint of a dying character. I find I have another copy so I have decided to release this one for the next reader.
