This is a classic book and if you're a slow reader or your library only lets out books for two weeks at a time, you may need to pick this up and keep it for a while. It's sort of romantic but there's lots of "rising above" and a neat look into what life was like at the time if you weren't rich but not really poor either. It's kind of like a toned down Cinderella what with the evil relatives and all. A very good Fall or Winter read.
