Carol Shields is my favourite contemporary author and this is my favourite of her novels. It's pretty safe to say that this is in my top five novels ever. If only she didn't refer to Harris tweed as being English! Ah well, it's a bit like a Persian carpet having to have a flaw lest it be God-like in perfection.

I worked on the information desk at the assembly rooms and gave a whoop of joy when I found a book cross book. I am about half way through, and loving it! There is something special about Canadian writers. I can't wait to set it free again on its journey around the world. xxx Samara xxx

I really enjoyed this book once I got around to reading it. Found it engaging and insightful and expect it'll linger on my mind for a while. So big thanks ShuChan for letting it go and Samara for leaving it in my path. Released again a few days ago so let's hope it gets caught soon.
So so pleased to pick this one up - read Unless by Shields last year and loved it! Found this in a civic amenity site along with others (not of the book crossing variety)!
