This is a very creepy story; Palahniuk is such a fantastic author! If you're a Palahniuk fan you'll love this one too and if you enjoyed the movie 'Fight Club' you really should read some of his books!!!!

Note: My cover art is different than in the picture...not sure if that makes a difference, but I just thought I'd post that....

Journal Entry 4 by funsour from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada on Monday, October 24, 2005
Fun read...not as good as Choke by the same author, but better than a few of his others
After reading Under the Banner of Heaven and Zion's Darkness this is a light read (because of it being fictional)
Am going to continue this book's journey-either as a RABCK or a bookray.

Book has arrived in the UK Yippee!! Welcome to the United Kingdom in time for Christmas. Just to let you know that it arrived safe and well in good spirits. It was posted Surface Mail and the time it took was about average (6-8 weeks)So Canada Post did a good job. TBR as soon as possible and posted on in the New Year to the next on the list. Thanks Funsour for getting it over here.

I have found myself sliding to a stop reading this. I can't just get into it as easily as Fight Club, maybe I'm not in the mood and will try again sometime if I see another copy. Posting on to Xanth-pup Friday 6th January 2nd Class.

Journal Entry 8 by Xanthe-pup from Cardiff, Wales United Kingdom on Monday, January 9, 2006
Received today from Sterile. Opened it for a quick read while making a cuppa, and I think I am going to love it!

Journal Entry 9 by Xanthe-pup from Cardiff, Wales United Kingdom on Friday, January 13, 2006
I was right - I do love this book! This is the first Palahniuk I have read, and will definately be seeking more.

The story starts in a plane over the Australian Outback, with Tender Branson telling his life story to the flight recorder and waiting to crash. I had no idea what to expect at any stage of this book - it just kept surprising me with bizarre twists. The writing is fresh and vibrant, and in a unique style (which for some reason reminded me of Irvine Welsh - but probably just because he does write so uniquely).

Loved it - will pass it on this weekend.

Finally sending this off to WhiteDwarfStar today. Sorry for hanging on to it for so long.

Wow...this is the third bookring to arrive in the space of 3 days. It looks good though, and I will get to it ASAP.

Thanks

Journal Entry 14 by BenjyMouse from Dunedin, Otago New Zealand on Thursday, March 16, 2006
Excellent novel, and a rather scathing satire on the evangelism industry.

Also full of great household tips. ;)

Unfortunately, BC tells me that cicakgirl does not exist, so I'm skipping to Karenlea, and mailing it off today.

Journal Entry 15 by Karenlea from Glendale, California USA on Tuesday, March 28, 2006
Caught!!! I will be able to start this book by the weekend. Thank You!!!

Journal Entry 16 by Karenlea from Glendale, California USA on Tuesday, April 4, 2006
Creepy story, I liked the ending. It caught me off guard. I was really into the plot and characters in the beggining, but I started to loose interest with the last hundred pages. Overall, I still enjoyed it and I cannot wait to read more of his books.

I will have it in the mail either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Thank you for sharing!!!

Journal Entry 17 by tbeckross on Tuesday, April 25, 2006
Received this weekend and I'll be starting on it as soon as I finish a current bookray. Thanks for sending!

Journal Entry 18 by tbeckross on Thursday, May 4, 2006
Well, I had just about given up on Palahniuk altogether after reading DIARY and LULLABY, but SURVIVOR, I liked it. A lot. I'm going to read CHOKE next, and will remove Palahniuk from the "Everyone Likes Him But Me" list.

Have PM'd KarinAlyssa and will send it out right away.

Journal Entry 19 by KarinAlyssa on Tuesday, May 23, 2006
Received today, thanks to tbekcross and FunSour for sharing it accross the world. As I'm the last participant in this ray, I will let this one sit in the TBR for a while but not too long before it can travel again as Breeze144 wished last year.

Sending to Geishabird as part of her package for being the November Indecisive.

Journal Entry 24 by geishabird from Toronto, Ontario Canada on Wednesday, December 5, 2007
Wow, I'm the latest keeper of this very well-travelled book...thanks brat and all previous readers for sending it my way! I've read and enjoyed a couple of Palahniuk's books and this one sounds extremely interesting.

Journal Entry 25 by geishabird from Toronto, Ontario Canada on Monday, April 21, 2008
Yowzah, what a nasty little book...but I mean that as a compliment, of course. Manic and disturbing and extremely lively. Remarkably easy to read, despite the unpleasantness - at times I had to force myself to slow down. There's a kinetic, jerky quality to the writing that is very easy on the brain. As outrageous as the storyline was, it came across as completely believable, even Fertility's omniscience, which I thought was incorporated very well - a difficult thing to handle without it becoming a cheap deus ex machina.

Very good read. I liked it better than Diary but I think Lullaby is still my favourite, although this is probably a close second. Must remember to try out some of Tender's stain removal tips...

This book will be heading out shortly to its next port of call, down under to lmn60, who claimed it in the Raiding Bookshelves Swap at BookObsessed.com. Hope you enjoy it.

What a well travelled book this is! It'll have a little rest on Mt TBR for a while and then I'll make sure it continues its journey....

Journal Entry 27 by winglmn60wing at Spotswood, Victoria Australia on Saturday, February 3, 2018
Horribly embarrassed to realise how long this one sat on Mt TBR - and equally embarrassed to admit that I actually read this one last year but forgot to journal it! The dementia is strong in this one.... :(
I have come late to Palahniuk but have become a confirmed fan. I particularly like the 'evil' nature of this one - and found myself chortling in wicked fun at the misadventures of poor Tender Branson. I think I must be a very nasty person!
Will take this along to the next bookcrossing meetup in hopes I can find a new convert to the cult of Palahniuk.

Crikey this book certainly has done the rounds! I feel the brunt of the responsibility to keep it going. lmn60 has been working on me for some time about Palahniuk and she is generally right ;-) but I figure that maybe I should start with Fight Club, which she passed to me quite some time ago. So this one will probably sit on Mt TBR for some time...safe at my house.
