Fahrenheit 451

4 journalers for this copy...
This is one of the books that changed my life. I first read it when I was in jr. high, maybe age 11 or 12. I was so impressed and so horrified at the idea that a society might evolve which prohibited books (and by extension, thought) that I began reading even more voraciously than previously...I resolved to commit as many books to memory as possible, just in case. (BTW, that resolution has borne absolutely no fruit -- although I can quote occasional lines and brief passages from a few of my favorites, I have yet to memorize an entire book.) In addition, as an adult, I oppose all forms of government censorship. Let me make up my own mind what I will read, watch, listen to, etc., thank you very much. (Ratings systems, on the other hand, are a different story.)
At any rate, no bibliophile should be without at least one copy of this novel. Which is why this copy will be released into the wild. This is the Ballantine Books mass market paperback edition printed in 1975.
Because of the author, this book is categorized SF/Fantasy, although it more rightly belongs in Horror...
TRIVIA NOTE: The title comes from the temperature at which paper burns.

Mailed to Atenea-Nike. Enjoy!
Mailed to Atenea-Nike. Enjoy!
I received the book in the mail the 8th January.
I have enjoyed it very much, especially the final conclusion: what matters is not the books, but what we learn from them.
It is definitively a must read classic for everybody :) Thank you, Avanta7!

Mailing it to Rozonda in Códoba as a surprise along with the book she asked for, The mists of Avalon.
I've already read this book, but not in its original language. As I always prefer books in their mother tongue, this gift of Atenea's will cause me to release my Spanish translation.
Thanks a million Atenea!!!!

Not having been claimed by Gumshoe, it is available for whoever asks it.

A dreadful tale of a dreadful world (a nearby future???) but amazingly led and released by war....
