This was waiting in my new mail box when I arrived home from work. I have recently moved house and this was the first BC book to arrive at my new home.
Thank you lamelemon for posting it and the post card.
I have just finished reading another BC book and so I can read this next.
Such a well travelled book. Only one other book on my shelf betters it, and then only by one journaller.

Released 11 yrs ago (7/28/2012 UTC) at Nicholls, Australian Capital Territory Australia

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

A strange little book of family madness. I thought at times the ‘telling’ was overdone and the story should have been incorporated more into the storyline.

I'll take this book along to our BookCrossing meet this coming Saturday and see if I can find more readers for the list before it leaves Canberra. It's being held at Café Sweet Copper, O'Hanlon Place, Nicholls, ACT. If I can't find more local readers I'll post it to the next person on the list.

ADDED: At the meet beli-jg took the book to read. She will bring it back to next month's book meet for another reader, or for me to post.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Interesting but intense story. At the Canberra book crossing monthly meet

The book is with me. Goldenwattle picked it up from the local bookcrossing meet at King O'Malley's Pub in Civic, ACT. No-one else at the meet wanted to read it. Goldenwattle will post it on after I have read it. Thank you.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

This is a quick read, but an unusual story. It is about a young pretty girl called Plectrude who had an unusual young life, training as a dancer and starving herself to stay thin. However this leads her to becoming too ill to continue dancing. Other avenues opened, and the story ends much brighter.
I have returned the book to Goldenwattle to post.

Arrived safely in wa today. Just have two others I need to read first (why does it always happen at the same time!), but I'm a fairly quick reader and I wouldn't think it will take me more than a fortnight to get onto it. Thanks for sharing, looks very interesting!

Unfortunately this one didn't really do it for me. It started off okay, but I rapidly lost interest. Glad I had a chance to read it, but it's my first and last by this author! Will send on to next reader shortly.

Journal Entry 110 by timcorke at Poole, Dorset United Kingdom on Thursday, November 29, 2012
I started and finished this book in an evening and found it equally as intriguing as a lot of other people.

Hmmm...what can I say about this? It's a tragic tale of Plectrude who experiences in utero the murder of her father and then indirectly witnesses the suicide of her mother. At 19, she gives birth to her son and almost commits suicide herself if not for the intervention of a her first love, aged 12. The author is then gunned down with her own weapon!

I'd challenge any other book to be so packed with such a violent plot.

What makes this an extraordinary book is that the protagonist has the potential for stardom in dance if it wasn't for the relentless pursuit of goals and sheer determination to succeed or complete a task that led to a career ending leg break.

There's a split personality both in herself but also given that she's been brought up by her aunt and uncle, who suffer their own tragic mental health issues as a result of the changes Plectrude goes through.

It's an intriguing read, sometimes difficult in places due to a strange use of 'big' words that gave the impression a thesaurus was an ever present aid to the story writing. This may be the author's specific style and given the eccentricity of the story gets away with it..just.

It'll be a book that you'll ponder over and raise with friends and family never quite sure whether you enjoyed it or thought was over the top.

I've contacted the next BCer and will post off straight away..

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I finished this book in one sitting with mixed feelings on whether I enjoyed it or not. At times it felt rushed to get to the ending as if the author ran out of thought and wanted it to end but the whole concept of the story held my interest. Since her other books got good reviews if they become available I will give them a try. Thanks for offering this book and now on its long journey to New Zealand.

What a very beautiful book. It was just magical.
It captivated your attention and held it, I really loved it.
It does put a bit of beauty on murder/suicide doesn't it?

The book also had a bit about Anorexia, and this is great as for health, Term 1 it will be a point of interest i will be studying about. Teenage girls are thrown about with all the social media, and other people who look up to the stick thin models. Go on any social networking site, and search 'thinspo'. So many teenage girls starving themselves to try to fit into society. And thruth be told, I though about joining them for a while.

Anyway more about the book. I couldn't believe how Clemence really acted. The book surely will keep you on your toes!

Sending to AUS when I can :)

What a horrible story with a lot of incredibly selfish characters. A great read!

Got it and read it in one sitting. I look at it as a cautionary tale about vicariously living through one's kids, with a random/absurd ending thrown in. I'm not sure I needed the latter.

Thanks for including me. I found Mom-Oyster's address on the RABCK site, so I'll send it up later this week.

One of the stack of books I brought home from today's meet-up. I should have journaled it sooner but Mom Oyster brought me fabric and I got caught up in playing with it. Squeaky was trying hard to sell this book and the title rang a bell for me and it's short. But it may spend some time on Mt TBR before I get to it
