Thanks, redhouse, for nudging me to read this one. I enjoyed it (I read it over the course of a one-day holiday from work to celebrate my birthday!), and if As Far As You Can Go doesn't quite make it as a thriller (see Guardian review -- link below) it certainly qualifies as a good yarn. The western Australia setting reminded me of Tim Winton's Dirt Music (which we both enjoyed, reading back over our journal entries).

I'll be posting As Far As You Can Go to redhouse, just as soon as I'm sure I have her correct address. Best wishes and happy reading from New Westminster, British Columbia.

Thanks Deborah, I shall enjoy this.

9 out of 10

I started reading this just before we went up to Northumberland for a weeks holiday so it came with me.
The weather in UK was atrocious and we were flooded in Rothbury, the market town where we were staying, (not us personally, we were in a lovely first floor apartment over the Co-Op)!Click here to see

A greater contrast to the setting if the book could hardly be imagined.
What a page turner this was. I would recommend it unreservedly. I am a big fan of Lesley Glaister and whilst I agree that it didn't quite have the thriller aspect of some of her other novels, it was certainly compulsive reading. I didn't want to put it down.

I may try a bookring with this one.
