Story of Kino, a Mexican fisherman, his wife Juana and their baby Coyotito. When Coyotito is stung by a scorpion the doctor dosn't want to help, because the family is poor.

Their luck seems to change when Kino finds a gigantic pearl. But the pearl brings them noting but bad luck. In the end Kino and Juana even lose their son. They throw the pearl back into the sea.

Difficult to read it in english but someone gave me a portuguese version afterwords and I read both at the same time. Loved it, thanks again Wilmar. The book is going to be released on my next bookcrossing meeting for someone who wants it.
