It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.Flood Tide

Once again, the indestructible Dirk Pitt saves the country from possible economic collapse, while at the same time destroying an evil villain, finding a lost treasure, and saving a woman's life. The vividly described action takes readers from the ports of Hong Kong to picturesque Washington State and to the final showdown on the Mississippi River in Louisiana. As each problem seems to be solved, larger and more dangerous events occur, such as the seemingly unexplainable smuggling of thousands of illegal Chinese immigrants. Our hero finds himself trapped with these poor, abused refugees who are about to be murdered.

I've never picked up a Dirk Pitt book before, but the recent adaptation of Sahara makes me think this could be a fun series. There's a lot to be said for mindless entertainment. :)
With a slightly better writer, this could be a very good book. :) Clive Cussler has Tom Clancy Disease - he found a few characters and fell in love with them, and has to find progressively more unbelievable situations for them to get into. The action is good, but everything between is hard to read. There's not a credible line of dialogue in the first 24 chapters. There are also a couple of logical leaps that the characters make - you can see where the author knew something and wanted to reveal it to the reader, but forgot that he hadn't given the characters enough information to figure it out.
