I didn't make it in time for "The Pact," but Jodi Picoult is a very popular author and I intend to find out why one way or another! ;-) Left a few books as well...
Jodi Picoult is a very popular author. This is the first book of hers I have read, and I have to believe it isn't one of her better efforts. I felt she would have benefitted from more editing--the story could have been tightened up considerably. At the very least, the supernatural element should have been removed. Another once-over by the proofreader wouldn't have hurt either. I found many of the main characters to be unlikeable. The murderer was the most likeable in my opinion, along with Kafka the cat. Some of the main themes of the book were hammered over and over in so many different ways, I felt like anvils were falling on my head. I'll take some Ibuprofen soon and release this one...Jodi Picoult doesn't need me as a fan, she has many already. I'm sure this copy will find a fan.
