More angst of the English Catholics. About two-thirds of the way through, I just could no longer bear the moral and theological twists and really wanted it to be over. It was somewhat incredible that all three main characters could be so unlikable and so capable of the complete destruction of their happiness.

I found this at Urban Renewals (Thrift Store) in Allston. I was so excited, my non-bookcrossing friend thought I was a bit crazy, I'm afraid...but it's just so much fun to find a BC book! This one seems to have been in the wild for quite a while!

I found it a bit depressing, but a good read. I like Greene's writing style. Thought the behavior of some characters towards the end was quite strange. Maybe that was the point!
