Idyllic New Hampshire life of two wealthy couples is shattered when their respective teenagers apparently attempt to fulfil a lovers' suicide pact and all involved have to come to terms with various choices made and not made. Very well written.

Wow ....once again Jodi Picoult managed to get me totally entrapped in the lives of the two families portrayed in this book.
An excellent story . Now off on a ring starting with Flanners first

Journal Entry 7 by flanners from Havant, Hampshire United Kingdom on Sunday, September 18, 2005
Thanks very much for the opportunity to read this. I didn't like it as much as My Sister's Keeper, but I did enjoy it, especially the court room stuff.

Now on its way to Lady Mondegreen . . .

Journal Entry 8 by Lady-Mondegreen from Basingstoke, Hampshire United Kingdom on Friday, September 23, 2005
.... and now tis here.

Journal Entry 9 by Lady-Mondegreen from Basingstoke, Hampshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, October 4, 2005
(I am sorry I am probably not going to write much this time - I am so frantically busy in real life at the moment that if I think too long and hard about this entry I will never get it written and the book sent off.)

I thought this was a very good read. The characters are believable, realistic, flawed and interesting and the plot was quite moving. I really enjoyed the court room drama scenario. I think Jodi Picault is an author I will be following.

Now, after a few changes to the ring order, I have katybean's address and will post it off tomorrow. Thanks for letting me read it.

Journal Entry 10 by katybean from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom on Thursday, October 6, 2005
The book arrived safely this morning - many thanks Lady-Mondegreen.

I have one other to read before it, but shouldn't take me long to get too!!

I'll update again when I've finished reading it :o) Looks good!

Journal Entry 11 by katybean from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom on Friday, October 14, 2005
I really enjoyed this book, and found it addictive right from the start!

I actually preferred it to 'my sisters keeper' as I found that a bit upsetting!!

I didn't know how the story was going to end - guilty or not guilty, as I could see it going either way - won't spoil the story for others though LOL

I have Pookledo's address so will get it off to her asap!

Thanks for making this into a bookring!

This is Jodi Picoult (not me LOL)

Fantastic read ... I was hooked and so caught up in all of the characters ... a story full of questions and hardly any answers ( ain't that life )

What depth all of the relationships had, the parents, the families together, Emily and Chris ...

The end for me was a total shock .. a good or bad shock I'm not sure .. guilt walked heavily with all of them in my mind.

Thanks so much for sharing round a wonderful book .. will pm for next address and look forward to reading more of her work.

Much Love and good wishes to all for 2006

Denise xx

Ahem, I've not read My Sister's Keeper yet as I bought it a couple of weeks before I joined BC so it's still sat up on the shelf :0( I did enjoy Second Glance though and everyone's reviews are making me look forward to this even more..Thans for sending it on xxx

I've gone a little over the month..sorry, but I have posted out today to HeathWitch.

This was a fairly long read, for me (and I stopped halfway through for Purplr Hibiscus!) but I thoroghly enjoyed it. It's difficult to say too much wothout giving the ending away, but a thought provoking and page turning read..Thanks for sharing.

Journal Entry 17 by heathwitch from Glossop, Derbyshire United Kingdom on Friday, February 17, 2006
Received today. I have another two in front of this, but then I'll get right on it! Thanks :)

Journal Entry 18 by heathwitch from Glossop, Derbyshire United Kingdom on Friday, February 24, 2006
Well, try as I might, I could not get into this book at all. I could not connect with any of the characters and found myself not really caring about who did what and why, or anything like that. It just didn't pull, and I found the writing style somewhat irritating, though I'm not sure why. So I'm sending on to wilksie today.

Journal Entry 19 by wilksie from Sheffield, South Yorkshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, February 28, 2006
This arrived today, thank you Heathwitch :-)
I have a couple of ring books to read but I'll get on to this as soon as possible.

Journal Entry 20 by wilksie from Sheffield, South Yorkshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, March 29, 2006
A fairly enjoyable read and although I can't say I liked any of the characters the moral rights and wrongs make for an interesting story. Hmmm, I didn't really agree with the verdict either.
I just wish Jodi Picault could do a bit more editing. The long wordy scenes (particularly in the courtroom) slow the pace and make the story drag.

Sending on to torialouise as soon as I get an address.

Journal Entry 21 by wilksie from Sheffield, South Yorkshire United Kingdom on Monday, April 3, 2006
Torialouise has already read the book and wants to be skipped so I'm posting on to hellie tomorrow.

Sadly this book appears to have taken extended leave from its journey, courtesy of the Royal Mail. Fingers crossed that it may turn up one day

Journal Entry 23 by lostbookisland on Monday, September 25, 2006
This book has washed ashore at the Lost Book Island after not being heard from for many months. This new arrival will be shown to a room and be allowed a bit of rest before being introduced to the many fun things to do here at the island.

All around there are books sipping cool drinks under shady palms while other books participate in a wide variety of beach sports. There is plenty of sand, surf and sun here for all of the lost and wayward books to enjoy.

It is hoped that very soon a new journal entry will come to rescue this book from the island and send it back out into the BookCrossing world so that it may continue on its journey. It is hoped that the new journal entry will tell all the interested parties where this book has been this long time and where it will be traveling to next.
