The first copy I had of this was given to me by a friend. I'd no idea what it was going to be like as had never heard of the author or title. Well, it was wonderful. Really had to think hard about whether I could bear to release this! Saw this copy in a charity shop and had to buy to wild release.

Loved this book! Delightful, quirky, funny and,at times, brutal story of little boy whose head is run over by a mail van and whose family abandon him. Hmmm, doesn't sound funny when I say it like that! Highly recommend this .
Plan to track down Udall's short story book now, think I saw it in McArthur Glen!

Picked up at BC Meet Up. Looks like an interesting read.
Hmmmm, that was.....odd.
I don't really know that how to feel about this book. Even thougth I was drawn into the story, I came out not liking Edgar very much.
And the constant switching between third and first person was getting a bit annoying, too.

caught at the Edinburgh BookCrossing Meeting this evening, this has been doing the rounds of the Edinburgh BookCrossing fraternity and I have thought, on a number of occasions ‘Oh this looks interesting’ but been too slow to pick it up. But, ha ha at last I get my sticky mits on it!
Wow, this was a great treat to read, insightful, engaging, painful and thankfully a little amusing too. A bit like getting caught in a flash flood I was swept away by it holding tight to Edgar as he careened perilously off the various obstacles that littered his path way through life. I finished it a bit breathless having been roughly wrenched this way and that with the extraordinary events that Edgar found himself at the centre of. Clearly other readers have found this very funny but I discovered myself getting so immersed in the painful aspects of the tale I found it tough to remerge and connect with the humorous elements. I certainly took a bit of a pounding reading through this emotional roller-coaster and yet the admirable resilience and gritty determination of Edgar and the books compassionate depth of understanding of the human heart shone through reminding me (as the book cover suggests) of the writing of John Irving. Incidentally I am also reminded of another bookfrogster gem of a release An Ocean in Iowa by Adam Roberts. Thanks bookfrogster for releasing The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint and thanks too to all the other bookcrossers who said ‘READ THIS it’s amazing.’ You were right!
Planning taking to the next Edinburgh Bookcrossing Meet Up.

I caught this at a Meet Up a while back and forgot to journal it! Ooops! Sorry to all those of you who'd thought it had ended up one of those poor lonely lost books left at a Meet Up and never heard from again. I really enjoyed this book, engagingly written with vivid characters and humour and surrealism to lighten the tragedy.
