Definitely in keeping with the quality of the series. Although the major event in this book was something I was expecting so I felt a bit disappointed that this book wasn't able to surprise me as much as the previous books in the series.

I enjoyed this book, but probably not as much as some of the others in the series. Maybe it is because I have teenagers of my own, but I didn't find the "teen romance" angles terribly interesting! I was surprised by who the half-blood prince really was though.

I enjoyed this book. It's the first Harry Potter book I've read but I've seen all the movies and that helped - if you didn't have any prior Harry Potter story knowledge, I think you might be confused while reading this one. I had purposely steered away from reading any "spoilers" on this plot and although I knew there was a death of a major character in the book, I did not know who, so I was surprised. I was not surprised at the identity of the half-blood prince, however as I kind of figured that out myself. Like all the stories, the ending is left open - I wonder how many Harry Potter books J.K. Rowling will write? Overall, very entertaining - thanks for sharing, Pamela :)
