I was so thrilled to find a copy of this for my secret Happiness Day partner! This is obviously a perfect book for her! It's also perfectly hysterical! I've learned a lot from this book. Giraffes, being one of the 5 most misunderstood animals (the others being frogs, treefrogs, toucans, and komono dragons), have a very complex and interesting history. They of course came to Earth about 500,000 years ago on a conveyor belt that probably brought them from Neptune, and currently prefer to live in Terre Haute. They control much of the world's ice supply, go through an "investment profiteering" phase during puberty, and love to eat bread sandwiches. I was especially relieved to learn about their mirror tricks -- no wonder that never looks like it could be my butt in the mirror! ;P If I had to vote for the best-looking giraffe, I'd be hard-pressed to pick between Karl and Giacomo, both from Terre Haute. Although Dominque from Provo, Utah is also quite a looker. I disagree about the secrets divulged about Marcus in the latter section of the book - he seems quite attractive to me! The humor in this is very dry, slap-stick, and silly all at once - and very laugh-out-loud. Doubly perfect for Happiness Day! Hope you enjoy it, Secret Partner!
