Happy Reading!
Arrived as a RABCK from scotsbookie - thanks very much! Will read it and let you know what I thought...
I really enjoyed this. It's not the type of book I'd usually read but several friends enjoyed it so I thought I'd give it a go.
Even though it was written more than 50 years ago, the ideas are still very modern, and it's interesting to see how many of Bradbury's predictions have come true.
Incidentally, the stab wound on the front cover was me - not sure how it happened, but if definitely wasn't there last night. Clearly I can't be trusted with anything!
Going to pass this on to gamera, who saw me reading it on the train, and asked to have it next.
Really good, remember reading this many years ago, still relevant today.
Received from Gamera. Thanks :)

Just arrived here at work - thanks for sharing!
Burned through this (excuse the pun) while on a business trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it, although I did feel the padding between novella and short story by points. A good, thoughtful read, I'll be recommending it heartily to others.
Moving on to the next in the ray as soon as I have an address.
The book arrived safely in Brussels. Many thanks microsquid, I have been looking forward to it.
"The magic is in what books say, how they stich the patches of the universe together into one garment for us"
"Everyone must leave something behind when one dies...Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die..."
"Stuff your eyes with wonder...live as if you´d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world....Ask no guarantees, ask for no security, there never was such an animal."
Fahrenheit 451 in now on its way to Malaysia.
Just a quick JE to say that it's arrived here in Malaysia safely.
Will go through it as fast as I can and PM HeresDeb for an address.
Finished. Can't say I enjoy this kind of dystopian novels, having started on a few just before this one.
Here's another book that I could cross off that list.
PM-ing HeresDeb for an address before sending it over this weekend.
The book's on its way to the US.
This arrived late last week. Thanks for the postcards synical!
This was a fairly quick read. The action moved quickly. The climax came way before I expected it to. It was an interesting look at what the future could be like. This couldn't really happen, right? It's always a little scary to see predictions like this and think about what could possibly be.

ugh. I suck. sorry guys, been busy and unorganised here the last few months. I thought I had journaled this on arrival - obviously not. I've finished reading it now and waiting for an address to send to.
Well-written and interesting, but not "enjoyable" exactly. I agree with the reader who mentioned a distaste for the distopian theme. I think I would have liked it better had there been another 100 pages or so - more of the story after Montag joins the hobo, we-are-the-books crowd.
Nov 6 - got stacey's address, will go in the post in the morning.
Received in the post last week. I have two bookrings to read before this one. Thank you for including me in this one. I have been wanting to read this book for a long while.
01/27/2009 Will be posting out to the next reader on the list. I had to wait to have some more funds to ship overseas after the holidays.
Received today - had totally forgotton I'd signed up for this, so it was a noce surprise. I have a few other rings to read first, but will get round to this as soon as I can. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed this, but agree that it would have been even better if the story had continued. Not sure what the war really had to do with anything, but the thought of burning all those books. **shudder**. Thanks for releasing this - it will travel on today.

Continuing on the ray...
Arrived over the weekend, thanks! Have started reading it, and am about half way through. I love it! Can't believe I haven't read it before!
found in the mail today! Thank you!
A very good novel, that should be a mandatory read in every school!
The society it describes is scary, and somehow one cannot help thinking that's where we're going to....
Thank you for allowing me to keep this book so long... I will mail it to the following reader as soon as I can.

mailed to MarcThomas today. Sorry for the delay!
Got it yesterday in my mailbox. Thanks scotbookie for sharing, lauraloo29 for organising the ray and Brujula for sending it to me. I'll start reading it today and should be able to pass it on soon.
OK, I read this book in a record time (less than 3 days I think) which could mean I really got into it. I really liked the story indeed and that's what made me rush to the end. Now I can't say I really appreciated Ray Bradbury's writing style. It's a bit too simple and it lacks a bit of magic other writers have. The thing is I'm not quite into science fiction books and it always seems weird to me that things authors wrote about some 20, 30 or 40 years ago don't look probable any more. Anyway an enjoyable read all in all.
I'm PMing davemurray101 right away for his address.

just recieved this one today. and i would have to say the most unique package to date - book and wafers. thanks to MarcThomas and lauraloo.
Just finished this one last night. One of the real SF classics that even transcends the genres. A great case against a comfortable, anti-intellectual totalitarianism. Ray Bradbury is one of the few authors I have never had a bad experience reading. thanks to lauraloo for sharing this one, i might either start my own bookring or give it as an racbk.

Both Owl007 and I read this book, and I have to say that he enjoyed this one a lot more then I did.
I think it was the opening essay (from the author) that I found most interesting. The origins of the story and his process of writing.
An interesting and fast paced story. While reading the story I had the distinct feeling that Bradbury probably wrote for television (this had a very 'Time tunnel' or 'Twilight zone' feel to it) and was not surprised to see all his writing credits when I finally did check www.imdb.com.
A classic read (science fiction or otherwise) I am pleased to have had the opportunity to read.
Thank you very much for sharing this book with me.
I will keep it moving (it's been around the world at least once already!), and am posting on to Jennymidget as part of the Southern Cross Book Exchange 2010 on www.bookobsessed.com.

Wow I loved this book , full of interesting ideas like billboards two hundred feet long so that speeding drivers can make sense of them and how prophetic that people have miniature speakers plugged into their ears with constant music and news. Eerily familiar considering this novel was written around 60 years ago and everyone walks around in a zombie like trance connected to their iPods!! ( Recently in the news a woman was run down and killed this week by a speeding ambulance with sirens blazing !!) The idea of book burning however is not a new one, Hitler tried it and so too did Stalin and the idea of Big Brother watching is again a theme that Orwell used in 1984 but Bradbury has a twist on it that is fascinating yet chilling in its possibilities. Great stuff!!
