FROM THE PUBLISHER

Meet Julia, a wildly successful television producer who appears to have the picture-perfect life. But beneath the surface, things are not as perfect as they seem. Stuck in a loveless relationship with her boyfriend, Mark, Julia thinks a baby is the answer . . . but she may want a baby more than she wants her boyfriend. Will a trip to New York City with a jet-setting friend—and all the glittering energy and eligible men the city brings—help her discover what she really needs?
Maeve, on the other hand, is allergic to commitment. A feisty, red-haired, high-power career girl, she cherishes her ability to do just as she pleases and breaks out in a rash every time she passes a stroller. But when her no-strings-attached nightlife leads to an unexpected pregnancy, her reaction may be just as unexpected. And then there’s Samantha—happily married and eager to be the perfect June Cleaveresque mother. But baby George brings only exhaustion, extra pounds, and marital strife to her once tidy life. Is having an affair with a friend’s incredibly sexy husband theanswer?
By turns witty, rollicking, and tender, Babyville isn’t really a story about babies—it’s about three friends whose lives are suddenly turned upside-down by that life-changing event that hangs over the head of every girl: motherhood.

This was a quick breezy read. I liked the way the three stories tied together and looked at the baby issue from several different angles. Some characters I liked more than others and I thought the ending of the first was a bit abrupt, but is sort of tied up by the other stories later in the book. Sending on to rern as soon as I get an address. Thanks again for sharing!

I wasn't sure I was going to care for this book after it arrived. I usually don't read "chick lit", but this is the beauty of bookcrossing, you can try out books that may be a genre that you don't normally read, without the commitment of a purchase. I was pleasantly surprised, I was really caught up in these characters and their crazy lives. The last chapter I truly felt for Sam and was embarassed right along with her! I will be on the lookout for more Jane Green! I am sending this along today.

I couldn't get into this book at first - I found I didn't give a fig for Julia and her problem. Once I was introduced to Maeve, I feel it became more interesting. I liked that 'the baby blues' was addressed somewhat with Sam - I know what it's like to be trapped in the house with needy little soul-suckers. I liked the way all the characters tied in together, after you get to meet them all. Overall, I enjoyed the book.

Will send on ASAP.

This was one of the best Jane Green books I've read. I really enjoyed the 3 separate but intertwining stories. Thanks for sharing, efs300! I've PM'd momofap for her address and I'll send it out as soon as I get a response.

I am really sorry that I read this book so slow. My Family, new job, and sickness interupted my reading. I found this book to be interesting, but slow moving. There was never a spot in the book that held my interest so long that I just had to keep reading to findout what was going to happen. I might try another book by this author. As soon as I get the address, I will send this book on. I PM'ed the next person a day or so ago. Thank you for allowing me to try this author.

When I first started this book it was slow-moving and I almost gave up on it, but it soon caught my interest and I did move along quickly after that. It was a pretty good book, but long (over 400+ pages). It was a pretty good book and I would definitely read another from this author. I am PM'ing TJROTH today to get shipping info and will get it out this week. Thanks for sharing!

This one landed in my mailbox sometime last week. I have started it already and should have it moving along very soon...

EDIT (April 17th) - sunshinedreamr has requested to be skipped at this time.

EDIT (May 5th) - I have received Karenlea's mailing address. I only have a few chapters to go...the book will be in the mail next week!

EDIT (May 9th) - I finished the book tonight at the gym. It's packaged up and ready to head for California tomorrow. I was surprised at where the plot when in the last part of the book. It didn't end up being what I expected, but I'm glad I was a part of the ray. Thanks for sharing!

It took me a little bit to get into this book. I enjoyed the last section the most and wish that the story had focused more on Sam. This is the first Jane Green book that I have read, but I am willing to give another one of her novels a chance.

I will be sending this off to the next reader tomorrow afternoon. Thank you for sharing!!!

A decent read that was actually perfect summer vacation fare. I'd classify it as a fluffy, light snack: an hour later you won't remember consuming it, but it was fairly enjoyable while it lasted.

My favorite character was Maeve; I enjoyed her journey as she grew into motherhood.

Thanks for sharing it, efs300 - this is an author I probably wouldn't have sampled without BC.

Picked this one up from the mailbox today on a brief stopover at home between out of town trips.

It is 2nd in line after the one I am reading now and the one I have waiting. I will take it with me on my next two week out of town stay and with any luck, I can have it moving in two to three weeks - it all depends on the demands whiel I am away from home.

Thanks for sharing and being patient while I get to it :)

7 out of 10

Finished this several days ago. Just now getting around to journalling it - Sorry :(

Like so many have said here, getting into it at first was a bit of a challenge. Once I finally did get into it, I found myself reading just to see how each person's story was unique.

I liked the way the ending brought all the stories together and how throughout the story some real life baby struggles and pleasures are shared.

This isn't the best Jane Green book I read, but I am glad to have had the opportunity to explore more of her work.

I have already requested address from missprissy. As soon as I get it, this book will be in the mail.

Thanks for sharing :)

An enjoyable read during a long day of flying. I was hoping to get Aramena's mailing address before my impromptu trip to Oklahoma City (she lives in OKC!). I didn't have internet access while in OKC, but I'm home now and have her mailing address. I plan on mailing this book out tomorrow.

Mailed on Sept 22...enjoy!

Since I was last on the ray and had a few other book ring books, I put this one behind them, and finished it over the weekend. I found it very enjoyable, and liked the different viewpoints as each woman's story unfolded. I kind of fell like I've been in each woman's position at some point! Jane Green never fails to satisfy.

I'm sending this book to Jumieges as soon as I have her address!
