RELEASE NOTES:
Ok, I have sent this and another book to Camis as a RABCK but forgot to register it first. It had a label in it but, who knows why I forgot to register it. Anyway, if the BCID on the book doesn't match what the book actually is, if I got the two mixed up, let me know and I'll try to fix it on my end. Dang.
Hope you like the book.

Mysterious and sexy, Maximillian Holt moves into Jamie Swift's life like a steamroller. She's the owner of a small town newspaper and he’s a notorious, brilliant billionaire--what could they possibly have in common? Apparently quite a lot, for besides their mutual affection for Max's airhead sister Deedee and his investment in Jamie's struggling business, they share an explosive sexual chemistry. Unfortunately, Jamie's already engaged to be married. But when someone sprays her office with gunfire, only Max can save her. Now she'll have to rely on him to sort out the tangle of embezzlement, mayhem, and attempted murder that threatens her bucolic world of Beaumont, South Carolina. But if they unravel the mysteries and manage to stay alive, is there any hope for a shared future between a cosmopolitan guy committed to tracking down evil and a small-town girl who just wants a normal life?

Thank you so much for this RABCK - it was a lovely suprise. I will read shortly.
Really enjoyed this - a fun, quick read with some quite bizarre characters! Thanks.

Thanks for bringing this along to the Uncon for me. I love the Stephanie Plum series so I am really hoping I will enjoy this one as well.
A nice, light, enjoyable read! Read this one very quickly. The Janet Evanovich touch makes it humourous with a little bit of excitement. Look forward to reading the next one in the series.
I'm taking it back to the Uncon this year to give to herrgirl who won it in a bookwap game.

Purplerosebud handed this over to me today at the Oxford meet. I'm enjoying the Stephanie Plum series but haven't read anything else by Janet Evanovich - but it will have to rest awhile on Mt TBR!

Bit confused by the JE below, describing a completely different book! I think it refers to the next book in the series Full Tilt, which stars Max Holt, who is introduced in Full House as a teenager.
Synopsis:
Nick Kaharchek senses danger the minute he sees Billie Pearce. Happy in her stable home life as a divorced mother of two, she represents everything the footloose Kaharchek's always avoided. But she is also irresistibly fascinating - in a car-crash sort of way. Billie, meanwhile, finds her instinctive response to Kaharchek's attention almost as frightening as the mysterious break-ins in her neighbourhood, and the spider invasions her pest-control man seems unable to beat. As fate brings Billie and Kaharchek ever closer, they are suddenly thrown into a world of mayhem, seduction and terror - but will it lead to love everlasting?
Despite it's having a headcount of bizarre characters and crazy situations,I didn't find this as entertaining as the Stephanie Plum books, but it was mildly enjoyable.
