A classic. What more can be said?
A lovely gift from Ceroc-Monster from the UK. Arrived slightly ruffled, but otherwise in great condition. Since this is one of the numerous classics I've never read I look forward to finding out what my brothers loved about this book.
Read in May for my Classics Book Club, which I had recommended we read this year.
I enjoyed the second half of this book much more than the first. Perhaps it would be more true to say that I enjoyed the first, third, and fourth quarters of this book more than the second quarter. Dafoe does an excellent job of leading his reader through Robin's many adventures and his descriptions of the island and all the actions were wonderful. The way he figured out what Robin's problems on the island would be and how Robin would have to solve his dilemmas were first-rate, too, even though he never figures out how to make ink or use another writing tool (charcoal--really?). Nonetheless, it was an interesting and fun read.

I found this at the OBCZ, (Thanks, Secretariat!). I have had this book, and ended up releasing it unread, or half-read, because it seemed a bit of a slog for me. However, I realize that I didn't give this book enough of a chance. LibraryThing has probably recommended it to me about three times, at least, so I am glad to have another chance to take their advice!
