Jan 23 - I love how the book starts: There are some men who enter a woman's life and screw it up forever. Joseph Morelli did this to me - not forever, but periodically. It gave a nice touch to the maybe lasting relationship in fiction. I saw that she already published her tenth installment. I love the way how she pairs Stephanie and Morelli - from way back to school. As per this quote from the book: When the manhunt is over I'd miss the teasing and the late-night companionship. It was true that Morelli still touched a nerve every now and then, but there was a new feeling of partnership that transcended most of my earlier anger. At first, I did not quite like the book. I thought it was very amateurish, having read John Sandford among others. But I enjoyed the chemistry between the two towards the end. I wonder how it will turn out later - but then again, I got the second book together in the package. Unfortunately, this book is going solo to the next member in the ring. Among the characters that I enjoy is Ranger, and agree that Grandma Mazur is on top too. |
