The book is nothing like the movie. At all. Be warned. That being said, it's seems to mostly be about the technical side of the war they are waging.

I agree with you huntersmith. The movie is centered on the battles whereas the book is centered on the daily experience of a soldier and it's much more interesting. Well, you do have to like military books. But there is some reflexion about war too.

Oh dear. I can't believe it's taken me a year to journal this. It had got buried under some other books. I'm very sorry for the delay.
Better than Stranger in a Strange Land, in my opinion. And so many times better than Glory Road that I can't believe it's the same author.
