I had this on my TBR pile for quite a while, lent it to my mate Ian, who said it was brilliant and easy to get through (It can sometimes take me an age to read a book). Having finished Haruki Murakami's "Kafka on the Shore" I need something to fill the gap until Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, so I thought I'd give this a go.

A brilliant book by Mark Haddon. The story follows Christopher Boone, an autistic teenager, who on finding his neighbours’ dog dead decides to conduct an investigation. The book is an enlightening read into the mind of an autistic teenager, very funny in places but full of emotion which had times had me close to tears.

I’d recommend it to anyone.

Well, this book turned out to be one of the ones that you hear so many good things about that you have to read it and when you do you are disappointed. I'll admit, I wanted to like this book so much and while it did have some good parts, and parts that made me laugh. It was really kind of blah. I was disappointed with the ending, maybe I was expecting more, and set myself up for the disappointment. All in all it was an interesting book, but not one that I would have gone out and bought for myself.
