The Glass Palace

Described as Doctor ZHivago for the far east. I would have said more of a Forsyte Saga. Whichever, it's a damn good read and gives lots of historical perspective to the political situation before, during and just after WW2 in Burma, India and Malaya. Will be released at the Birmingham Unconvention on 2 July 2005.
Picked up at the BCUK Unconvention today. Thank you!

I really enjoyed reading this novel - recognized a lot from India and also learned from reading it.
Picked it up in Poland (in May 2008), flew it first to Stockholm where it has been lying around, took
it with me to Ibiza where I started reading it last week and finished it on the flight back to Stockholm.
Thanks a lot Fellraven, I found it on the newspaper table in the bar of the Hyatt Regency. I will take a
walk down to the Rival Hotel here in Stockholm (owned by Björn of the ABBA) and release it there hoping
it will travel the world again!
