Book Description:

When Philadelphia assistant district attorney Sydney Cooper gets an urgent late-night call from her best friend asking to meet her, she can't help but wonder what kind of trouble investigative journalist Lily Gilmore has gotten herself into this time. But exasperation soon turns to fear when she becomes the sole witness to her friend's brutal kidnapping. Knowing she cannot rely on local law enforcement, Sydney believes she's Lily's best hope for survival.

Armed with only her determination, Sydney delves deep into Lily's two latest high-profile cases--with shocking results. But when Jake Sloan, an enigmatic stranger, comes to her aid, Sydney slowly realizes that Lily's disappearance is more complicated than she ever imagined. In a perilous race against the clock, Jake and Sydney must uncover a kidnapper's motives. . .before the search is too late.

10 out of 10

thanks so much for this book.
I always look forward to our regular book exchange

What is a bookring and how do I get in on it?(thanks go to PHC for her detailed instructions which helped me greatly in understanding the process)

A bookring begins when a bookcrosser decides to send a book on a controlled journey. A list of interested readers is set up and the book passes from one reader who reads it and then sends it along to the person next in line. Eventually the book ends up back in the hands of the original owner which, for this book, will be me, nikel27. A reader can join the bookring at any time unless I decide to close it (if that happens I'll make a note that the ring has closed).
You Have to Be a Member at EUROPEANROMANCEREADER@YAHOOGROUPS.COM

What should I do when I receive the book?
Log on to bookcrossing and type in up journal entry so I know it reached you okay. Then private message (PM) the next person in line to get their mailing address so there will be no waiting once you finish the book, if they do not respond within 10 days PM the next reader in line (and me so I know they are no longer interested). Please read the book within 30 days and when complete add another journal entry with your comments. Tell me the truth :) Was it the best thing you ever read or a complete and utter waste of time? I love to talk to books, the good, the bad and ugly (ugly can sometimes be lots of fun to dissect), you can write one sentence or a hundred. When finished
What if I'm the last in line PM me and I'll send you my mailing address.

Thanks for participating!

Please PM me if would like to be added to the list or have any questions about the book or the bookring!

I really enjoyed this book....one of those books that is easy to read & once you start, you just want to keep reading!

A good storyline but not as much romantic interest as I expected....as usual you know the two main characters will get together but it's not the main focus of the story.

I'll certainly be on the look out for more by this author-thanks for introducing me to her nikel27 & for organising this ring.

It will be on it's way to Annadlx on Tuesday...& is now part of the 2008 KEEP THEM MOVING CHALLENGE (#27)

I took this out of my mailbox last night. I've anticipated its arrival for a long time, so it will be read right after I finish my current Sophie Kinsella ring.

As always, thank you Nikel27 for including me in this ring. And thank you Plum_crazy for kindly mailing this to me! I'll let you know how I like it later on.

This book is ok. It's more of a suspense story than about romance. Which was a nice change. Even though I can't give full points. That's mainly due to both storylines that ... ahh... can't say without spoiling this. Maybe saying the ending came too sudden for my taste is saying it as well. ;)

Thank you for letting me be part of this ring. I already have the adress of silvia-pco, so I'll mail it on Friday...

Hey there :)
I haven't read this book yet, and unfortunately I'll have to send it home without doing so. My TBR pile is huge, and I'm doing a sort of "clean up", sending along most of the books I have with me. I'm sorry for not reading it, but huge TBR piles ask for radical measures...

Please PM me with your address, nikel27, so I can send this one home. Thanks.
