At first I was really dissapointed with this book. I found the characters to be incredibly "unlikable" but it wasn't bad enough to stop reading . About half-way through the book I started enjoying it more and more and once I finsihed I was glad I read it through. I think this book is worth reading and would recommend it to a fiction loving friend.
I'm mailing this book out to fellow bookcrosser "cestmoi" as part of the "Pay it Forward" game. Enjoy!
Just received! Love this game, thanks so much!
I started reading this tonight and although it is quite hefty, it seems an easy read so far. I like writing style and I agree with Ella-Mae, none of the characters so far are endearing, but I am curious about them so its keeping me reading.
Will journal again when read.
Will journal again when read.
I just looked at the BCID # for this book....its been around for ages (in bc'ing history I mean!).
Well...the Lamberts are certainly a dysfunctional family, but I think all families are too some degree. I didn't really come to like nor care for any of them, each of them were too flawed and too much a caricature of dysfunction. It was clear the author was trying to show that no matter how badly a family communicates, no matter how they hurt each other, in the end, love rules all and takes over...but I am not sure if that actually happened with the Lamberts or if they just took easy routes because it was ..well...easier.
Well worth the read though and I would recommend it.

Thanks I think this book looks very interesting and you know I love thick books. I will read it in time to be released at the convention in April cestmoi it was nice seeing you at the mini meet up today. Don't forget to e-mail me your photos you took:) please
I had to read this book slowly and at first thought I would not finish but I persevered and what got me was that I did not know that some severe forms of Parkinsons caused hallucinations and the author mesmorized me with them. What a family though. Now I don't think mine is half as bad as I did. I will be dropping this off at my doctor's office.
