Journal Entry 12 by YowlYY from Nottingham, not specified not specified on Saturday, July 23, 2005
The fabulous bookbox arrived yesterday at half eight, but due to work and busy life (a.k.a. vets appointment with two bunnies who just don't fancy vets in any shape!)I only find now time to journal it properly. Thanks for the sweets by the way... Mr YowlYY took half of them away, which I will be replacing with some Italian ones, but no chocolate, as I am not sure what the temperatures will be like when the books will be taking off again :) I am taking from the box: Shakespeare My Butt! by John Donoghus - thanks caffcaff :) The Last Temptation by Val McDermid, because I just adore Tony Hill; Millions by Frank Cottrell Boyce ...and I am still thinking what to put in. I will be back to update you on this, though! Update: OK, almost forgot to write down what I've put in the box... it's Cool for Cats by Jessica Adams and The Chamber by John Grisham. Because of the size of the books I couldn't fit in a third ;)

Journal Entry 13 by Caro1 from Newark, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom on Friday, July 29, 2005
Arrived this afternoon. Have only just had chance for a quick peek, as I've attended a local funeral and been on a 250 mile round trip to pick up my aunt since the box arrived. This is my first bookbox and I can't wait to have a good nosey, but with a busy weekend ahead, it will probably be Monday before I get to it. Thanks for posting YowlYY, shame we couldn't arrange a meet-up. More later! Update I finally got chance to investigate the box and all its goodies! I've removed: Saint Maybe by Anne Tyler Altered Land by Jules Hardy The Fisher Child by Philip Casey I put in: The Last Time They Met by Anita Shreve Miss Garnet's Angel by Salley Vickers Youth by J. M. Coetzee ...along with some sticks of rock picked up on a day trip to a very dismal Cromer.

Journal Entry 19 by catrionamoore from Ellistown, Leicestershire United Kingdom on Thursday, August 18, 2005
I met a local bookcrosser at last, who wasn't my childminder! Albeit a rather hurried meeting it was lovely to put the name arturogrande to a friendly face. Thank you for passing the box on, and now the panic is over (my Father is being discharged today)I have had a chance to peruse the box. I really do not remember signing up to this box, I'm sure dodau snuck my name in when I wasn't looking. I have been rather strict and all the books I thought "ooh that looks interesting" I have put back in the box and only kept the three that I do not want to pass by. As my TBR shelf in the bookcase has now extended to three shelves I'm running out of space to hide them. I am also running on an approximate five month backlog so the strictness will hopefully let me catch up. Anyway the books I have taken out are The Twilight Child A Recipe for Bees The Demolished Man I shall replace them with The Starlight Barking by Dodie Smith French Revolutions by Tim Moore A Certain Chemistry by Mil Millington Hopefully an eclectic enough selection to keep things going.

Journal Entry 21 by lellie from Trimley St Mary, Suffolk United Kingdom on Wednesday, August 24, 2005
Arrived while I was at work this morning. No one was in and our usual postman was on holiday so instead of leaving it round the back as they usually do, it got taken back to the PO. MrRedhouse had to go and collect it, so I gave him the sweeties as a reward. I've had a good look, been remakably restrained and removed only three. I'll go and trawl my bookshelves now and make another journal entry when I have decided what to put back in.
