The style of this writer will suck you in, even if you're not into Arabian fairy tales (which I am not). The author's style is simple but not lacking for beauty.

This book was my first exposure to Naguib Mahfouz & I immediately ran to the library to get more of his work after finishing it. These stories are not for the squeamish, but they are so richly portrayed & vivid (in every sense) that I was unable to put this book down. If you need a little bit of instant literary pleasure, however, it is divided into 15+ short stories that all link to each other.

Unfortunately, my Official Crossing Zone at my desk at work is not working out as planned. I'm reclaiming all of those books and am going to scout around for better ad hoc crossing zones in the Detroit area...preferably right here in Ferndale.
