I saw the author (John Perkins) on C-SPAN's book TV. He brought such a human element to the subject matter that I couldn't help but be compelled to read this book. First of all if it is true the content is simply astounding. It will make you distrust all those in power. But at the same time it will make you want to change the world. It does all of this by telling an autobiographical story that draws you in.
