My mum loves the Scarpetta novels and passed this onto me for Bookcrossing. I will read it eventually, but have a lot of tbr to to be going on with so offering this for a Bookring as it's on loads of wish lists. If there's enough interest I'll start it off on 13th June ( Mum's birthday!)

Synopsis from Amazon:
Since Postmortem garnered critical acclaim and a record-breaking five awards for a first crime novel, the Scarpetta novels have often been imitated, but never bettered. Against her own judgement and the advice of Benton Wesley and her niece, Lucy, Scarpetta agrees to return to Virginia as a consultant pathologist on a case involving the death of a fourteen-year-old girl. Accompanied by Pete Marino she finds the once familiar territory of her morgue and her department much changed, and the new Chief Medical Examiner treats her with disdain despite the obvious fact that he is in desperate need of her expertise. But professional as ever, she re-examines the evidence and proves the girl was murdered. She also finds trace evidence which matches that found on an accident victim and at the scene where one of Lucy's operatives was attacked. It is not only a forensic puzzle, but opens up the probability that someone is after those closest to Scarpetta.

Sorry that took so long! I've been really busy! I used to read all the Patricia Cornwell books a long time ago, but stopped once I started to bore of her style. It was fun to revisit this author after such a long break. I enjoyed the book, but found it got a little slow in parts...you know, when you think you've solved it, but it takes the characters another 100 pages! Overall, lots of fun to read! Thanks for sharing!

Finished this book early this morning. I agree with Nicole4 as I have read 3-4 of here other books and it took me a while to get into this book probably not till about 1/3 of the way through. And it did not seem the have the punch that some of her other books have had. Overall it was a good book, not great but an enjoyable read. Will be sending this book up to Canada for Boomda181 to read hopefully today at lunch.

Just arrived this week, I am looking forward to reading the next chapter of the Scarpetta saga.

I was a little wary of the latest book by Patricia Cornwell. I have been slowly losing interest in the Scarpetta series, but found that I enjoyed Trace very much. The characters seemed to be a little more like the characters that I used to enjoy and it did not seem to be as inconsistent or irrational as I have found the last few novels.

Now this book is off to MissTerry in Malayasia. Thanks!

I have finally completed this book. Many apologies for the delay..

It was a bit slow at first, but did eventually pick up the pace. Agree with previous comments that Cornwell's latest books are not as good as her earlier ones, but this is still an enjoyable read..

ZlatkoGR has asked to be skipped. I have received Piggeldy's address so I will post this week. Shouldn't take too long as I now also live in Germany :o)

20/04 - Successfully navigated German Post Office yesterday. Book now on its way to Piggeldy.

Oh-oh... There are two other rings ahead :-( I really can't say when I'll be able to get to read this one, but I try not to keep rings longer than 3 months. Fortunately, it's only one reader waiting for the book...

btw, everything worked fine with the Buechersendung ;-)
