Synopsis from Amazon
A group of well-bred English people react violently when they are confronted by a situation outside their experience. The widowed Lilia marries an Italian, and the contrast between the vitality of disreputable Gino, and the narrowness of the English, forms the central theme of the story.

What an intriguing-looking read in my mailbox today!
A new-to-me E.M. Forster - published in 1905, set in England and Italy (which we love), with beautiful cover art of a typical Italian hilltown scene.
Thanks so much for this book relay, AnglersRest!

Amazing - a book written in 1905 - 100 years ago - still a compelling read with some timeless issues.
Appreciated the chance to read this classic.
Sending to heartsong2 - from her wishlist.
Enjoy!

Thank you so much for sending me this book. It is one of the titles from my "literature, arts, and medicine" reading list. This will be an adventure for me. I appreciate your generosity and will be sure to "pay it forward" in your honor when the time is right.
I actually found this book rather humorous (in a good way!). It made me think of The Lives and Loves of a She-Devil that I read recently in the way the characters and their actions were so outrageous and exaggerated. Maybe it's a quirk in English literature I've never notice before. I didn't expect to find it funny. I read A Room With a View years ago, and as I was reading Forster again, recalled how much I enjoyed that book reading that book at the time in my life that it was. Anyway, in this story, Forster tackles some serious social issues with characters that act pretty crazy! I liked it a bunch!
Thank you so much JDT for sharing this with me. In appreciation of your gift to me, I will now pass the book along to kitiarablue. It will begin its journey this coming Saturday! Thank you, again, JDT!

Arrived today, thanks heartsong2! I hope to be able to get to this one very soon, as one of my goals for this year is to read and release all books sent to me by other bookcrossers before they linger on my shelf too long! And I think when I finish it, I may also send it as a rabck and make it a tradition! Thanks again heartsong2!
I have to agree with heartsong2, I did find this book to be amusing, and somewhat tragic at the same time... You keep wondering "But what if????" I will be looking thru wishlists in order to pass this along rabck style. Thanks for sharing everyone!
