Just got back in to work after a week away and this was waiting for me (together with an Earl Grey tea bag which is steeping as I type - thanks Helen!). I'm off on my travels again in two days, so I expect to send this on in a week or so.

A wonderful books of verses. As usual, McGough is playful, witty, amusing and, occasionally, poignant. I may get a copy of this for myself. Thanks to n-c-o-t.

Will send this onto Redhouse once I have the address.

(PS - Just to record the book's travels, it has been to Istanbul and back while with me).

This was waiting on the doorstep for me when I got back from the school run this morning - not sure why; my letterbox isn't that small!
I've already dipped into it several times. I've found several poems to make me chuckle and one or two that have made me think, like

Away from you
I feel a great emptiness
A gnawing loneliness

With you
I get the reassuring feeling
of wanting to escape.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this, thanks!

I've really enjoyed this book of poems - deceptively simple, yet very entertaining and some very thought-provoking.

I'll be sending it on as soon as I can, thanks!

This arrived at the weekend and I was temporarily without internet connection. This meant I had time to read it, but couldn't journal it. Will send it on this weekend. I really enjoyed it. I'd heard some of Roger McGough's poetry before but this is the first time I'd sat down to read any. The Pocket Penguin edition was a great way to get a taste for it; I'll go in search of more McGough Stuff now. :)

Have ordered my own copy, plus Watchwords, which was the very first book of Mr McGough's poems that I had out of the local library when I was still at school.

I renewed that book so many times they had to put in a new sticky label.

Had this been around at the same time, I'd have done the same.

Lady Godiva.

Off to glitterlover ;)

EDIT - this was posted to Glitter lover at the end of October, once I had her address. Will check with the post office as a couple of other items went astray at around that time.

I think this little book has well and truly got lost in the post :-( Does anyone have a spare copy so that the last participant Glitterlover can read it? Cheers Helen
