Journal Entry 1 by WildcatSong from New Haven, Kentucky USA on Thursday, May 26, 2005
found on the free bookshelf at library description: When sixteen-year-old Pi Patel finds himself stranded in a lifeboat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with only a menacing 450-pound Bengal tiger for company, he quickly realizes that the only way he will survive is if he makes sure the tiger is more afraid of him than he is of it. Finding strength within himself, he draws upon all of his knowledge and cunning, battles for food and shelter, overcomes storms and disasters, and, in the end, makes a peace of sorts with both tiger and ocean.

I thought this was a really good story. Pi is someone most of us would truly love to meet and make friends with, someone with a good heart, and an open mind. But I certainly would never want to go through all he went through! I will be mailing this book out as soon as I relocate the recipient's address.

Journal Entry 4 by dee831 from Chardon, Ohio USA on Monday, July 14, 2008
Finished: 7/13/08 Wow, what an incredible story. The first section was somewhat tough to get through, so hang in there. This is well worth the read.... The ending was not quite what I had hoped for, but the author had to end it somehow. The story is so unbelievable, yet the author does a grand job of pulling you in and making you wonder, did this really happen? I can't wait to pass this on to someone else who will appreciate it as much as I did. The movie is in pre-production to be released sometime in 2011! 11/29/09 Lent to MIL 2/14/10 Returned

This book is being released to the PHC Book Sale at work. Yesssssss, I know Bookcrossing books are supposed to be given away. But, the money goes to a good cause (American Heart Assoc.) and I figured this was a good way to rid my shelves of some the AVL books. Congratulations! This is a very special book! It's been liberated. That is, it's absolutely FREE - a gift from me to you. Please take it home & enjoy! Keep it if you wish, or read and re-release for someone else to enjoy. The individuals who are part of BookCrossing.com just like to spread the joy of reading by leaving books "in the wild" or trading them directly with other members. Our greatest joy is knowing that someone has found and is enjoying the books. If you wish to join, please register first before leaving a journal and list me as the referring member, dee831. Thanks for visiting! Come back and tell me what you thought of the book, where you found it, or just to say hi!
