The Colour of Magic (A Discworld Novel)

I'll just be going through my collection of terry pratchet books and recording them here I think. I often loan them out and having a way to keep track of who has which as well as what they thought would be nice.

As for this book itself, this is the first in the discworld series. If you had started with this book you would be quite surprised to learn that discoworld is up to 29 novels or so right now. This one shows that it is an early work, even in the structure itself. It is basicly 4 short stories about the same two characters, divided into chapter structure. This is interesting as Terry Pratchett would later move away from the chapter approach.
Not a bad book in itself, but also not really required reading to enjoy the discoworld series, much of the world that is introduced here is changed by the midpoint.
I will be hanging onto this book, loaning it out to select few, always hopeful to get it back.
