Arrived today, thanks pinkozcat! I must say - this is the third bookring I have received from pinkozcat and her books are always so beautiful - not a dog-ear or bent spine in sight! I'll do my best to keep them in the immaculate condition I received them in!
A fun and engaging read, although I thought it was quite obvious who the murderer was! Sounds like Phryne would be into bookcrossing:

This is one of the better ones. I grew up near Ballarat and went to uni there for one year, so it was a little familiar in places. It was nice to find out how Phryne came to adopt the girls too...I just need to find out how Lin comes into the equation.
I am getting a little tired of ol' Phryne though. Why doesnt anything ever go REALLY wrong (murders aside)?

Arrived safely on Friday. I will be starting this book tonight. I am really looking forward to it.
Absolutely loved it. Read it in 3 sittings yesterday. Was very cross when I had to stop to feed the family. Posted on this morning.

Oh good, another Phryne and it's a fairly slim volume so that will help! I'm weighed down with bookrings at present...
Just this minute finished! I enjoyed this more than Away with the Fairies - it seemed to have more substance although it's all a bit of a 'lark' for Phryne. She obviously has no financial worries and devoted servants and helpers to do her bidding - no wonder it always comes out right. Still a pleasant enough read for a Sunday afternoon thanks pinkozcat.

The book has turned up - very late but not, after all, lost. Viola7 will dispose of this book 'thoughtfully' and the ring will continue with the replacement copy.

I finally got around to reading this book and I must say that I enjoyed more than the other Phryne Fisher mystery I read recently.

This book was waiting for me in a HUGE pile of mail, when I returned from the 3rd Australian BC Convention. :) Hence my delay in journalling its arrival.
It was my first Phryne Fisher novel.
Whilst the murderer was dead easy to guess the charm of the book was the surrounding stories that linked to the murder. I do think that the author has put modern values on Phryne but this does not detract from the story. I also fount it unlikely that she would have solved all the mysteries and had time to find alover and adopt two children in the short time but like I said it is my first book, so I am finding out about the character. She is a find and I and going to delight in another of her books as soon as I wrestle it from my mother.

Part of the Phryne Fisher sereis of books, set in the 1920's in Melbourne. A nice Story. I look forward to reading another.
