I bought this book to read for my Europe and Two World Wars class, and it was really excellent. It's the story of a group of German soldiers returning home after World War I and the struggles that the face in the wake of the war. The characters are very well-drawn and the story just draws you in and gives you a really accurate picture of what it must have been like for de-mobilizing troops then (and perhaps even now). A really good, historical read.

Holding onto it to see if my mom wants to read it.
