An interesting story about a man who has a horrible day, tries to commit suicide, and ends up shooting Death when he shows up. Having murdered Death, he now has to take on the office. He is drawn into a plot by Satan which is leading him to destroy the woman he loves, and has to find a way to fight back against the Father of Lies. This is book one in a seven-book series, one book each on Death, Time, Fate, War, Nature, Satan, and God, I think in that order. I've only read the first two. This one stands alone pretty well. This book is a paperback that I think I got from a swap meet at a library, and I'm not sure where I'll release it.

The idea of a man who murdered Death is very strange, and I sometimes mention this book when I say that another book is too strange for me. If you look around my bookshelf for a while, you can see that that's really saying something. This is just an example of my odd reading habits, and one that can be stated concisely.

Examples of books I found "too strange" include:
Crash by J.G. Ballard (one of only a handful of books I stopped reading because it was too disturbing)
E.T. 101 (stands out as the only book I have so far rated with only one star)
