Saw this in the bookstore in paperback for the first time today & grabbed it up with greedy glee. I predict a few hours of happy reading, and that I'll gobble down this novel like potato chips!

Late summer, 2005.
A nice light read. I really enjoyed Fowler's sly but very well done "Questions For Discussion" for book groups that might read this book. I also enjoyed Fowler's exhaustive compiling of every literary response to Jane Austen that has ever been recorded. I was really surprised at Mark Twain's vehment dislike, though!

Now this novel is on its way to peggysmum. I hope she enjoys it, or knows someone who might.

Oooh bonus book - thankyou Bybee. I've already read this one, but I do know someone who wants to read it. Many thanks.

I found this gem on Ainslie Avenue one night after work. I read her immediately so that I could release her to roam once more. The problem was I then put her in the pile of books, read and unread, and there she stayed happily chatting with the others.
Now she is out and about - happy hunting!

CAUGHT IN CANBERRA ACT AUSTRALIA

Journal Entry 5 by haeremai on Monday, January 1, 2007
We were on holiday in Australia from New Zealand when one morning we were out for an early morning explore of central Canberra with my two boys (7) and (5). My eldest son ran up to me saying "Mum here is a free book for you." I had to admit, I didn't know what he was talking about until I read the inside cover and thought "cool" I will keep this book to read. Once read, I'm tempted to let it go out into the wild which is our home city of Hamilton, New Zealand.
