I really love books that capture a surreal look on modern life, and Fforde did so effortlessly. I loved the look at 1985 London and Swindon, and the details that Fforde added -- the Will-speak machines, the "cults" of individuals dedicated to Milton, Marlovian thought, etc. I would highly recommend this book, and I'm looking forward to finding other Thursday Next books as well.
