The Nine Tailors
2 journalers for this copy...
Even without Harriet this is one of my favorite Lord Peter mysteries. I like the fact that there is no pat ending to the story, and the descriptions of the Fens and the church are wonderful. As usual, the sub-theme of British social class structure & functioning is fascinating. This book is a perfect example of why Sayers is one of my favorites.
off to Real Change
One of a whole box of books that deenbat sent to Real Change. I am thrilled to be able to introduce more people to Lord Peter Wimsey, with what many critics consider the best book in the series.
And synchrodamnistically, I just found a copy of Lord Peter, a one-volume collection of all the Lord Peter stories. It's a 1986 book, so *very* fragile that I am afraid to turn the pages because some of them are so close to falling out. If I can find out how to re-bind a paperback, I'll start circulating that one too!
