The story of a female model attempting to save the Nevada cattle ranch her father loved is compelling if a tad unrealistic. Hope uses her modeling money to fend off drought and the lecherous owner of the bordering ranch.
Everytime it mentions the ranch, it uses the full name - "Valley of the Sun." It appears 4, 5, 6 times on some pages. This was distracting at best.
Happened to be traveling with a group of mostly conservative folks who asked me about the book and some wanted to read it. There are a few scenes that would drop their jaws.
Not a challenging read but engaging enough to make an airport, flight, or road excursion a bit less tiring.
It was left at a 400 year old hostel in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. The hostel sits in an alpine valley below the towering Jungfrau and Shilthorne peaks.
