Another Women's Murder club book.
this was not one of the better "womens murder club" mysteries but it was pretty good. I had figured out who one of the "bad guys" were but the other two really suprised me. I was glad to see this book after reading his last, I was not very impressed with that one. I am going to be sending this to someone as a RABCK to someone that has sent me a lot of enjoyable books.
sent to BigRTex..enjoy! Thank you for feeding my Sue Grafton addiction
I received this book as a surprise RABCK last Friday. What a wonderful response to my feeding your Sue Grafton habit... you feeding my James Patterson (et al) habit, and just in time for my trip to the beach for Memorial Day.
I too had figured out one of the 'bad guys' and also thought that I knew the motive. There didn't seem to be a lot of candidates for the 'bad guys' so I was worried that it was going to come from left field.
I missed some of the interaction between the memebers of the club with this novel, but hope that the new lawyer replaces the deceased ADA to bring the club back up to a foursome.
I enjoyed how the multiple story lines (toaster-killer/child-killer/whipping-killer) fit together without stepping on each other.
James Patterson's novels waste a lot of paper with their short chapters, but somehow that makes them so much more readable for me. Knowing that I'm only a couple of pages from the next chapter, I'm less nervous about picking up the book at a stoplight or between bites. I plowed through this ~400 page novel in 3 days, after spending more than twice that amount on a Jane Smiley novel of similar length.

This book appears on about 30 wish lists. I'm going to start a bookray with this copy and share this with as many folks as possible. I have been contacting people that have it on their wishlist, and have seven so far that are interested. Some of the later additions are still in the process of reading earlier novels in the series and may ask to scoot down the list. I will continue to add to the list, but the first four recipients are now set.

Received today from BigrTex. Thanks so much for starting this bookring. I've started already and have read the first 10 chapters, and am getting hooked. I'll make another journal entry when I'm done and let you know what I think.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as the rest of the series, but it was still quite good. Like the others have said, I figured out the "bad guys" and almost the "why" as well.
I sent this on to alsgal today, so it's heading back to the US. Hope everyone enjoys it and thanks BigrTex for starting this bookray.

I too didn't enjoy this one as much as the others in the series. I enjoy it more when "the girls" get together to solve the crime.
Twiga92 got a copy of this one from the library and has asked to be skipped. I'll be mailing this one off as soon as I get bkfamily's address.

I enjoyed this book. It was fun trying to figure out all the bad guys and their motiffs. I also have enjoyed other books in this series.

Showed up today :-) Why do I always get all my rings at once? I only have two, but both are large books... I'll get to this just as soon as possible. I think I might read this one first because Patterson always goes fast for me...
Just finished this one up and sending to the next person on Monday...
I, too, enjoyed it. I really really missed the banter between the members, but seems we have a new member with "you know who"s passing from 3rd Degree. I wonder if there will be a 5? I really do love this series, but this one was just "okay".
BUT, because I'm so slow on the up-take, I had the first person arrested figured out half-way through, but was completely surprised by the others :)

Rec'd from candieb, thank you! Will read and send on!
I agree with everyone that I didn't like this book as much. As soon as the girls weren't around I was disappointed. But I just read the 5th Horseman and it's excellent!!!

Enjoy!
Just got this in the mail today - thanks for sharing it, I look forward to reading it soon!
I really enjoyed this - I needed a quick read to distract me from my upcoming move, and James Patterson always does the trick. I was surprised by the ending, and continued to get attached to all the other characters... good stuff.
I'll send this out to the next person as soon as I get an address.
Edit 3/21/06 - I sent this out today.

Received in the mail yesterday. Will read and send on to the next person within 30 days. Thanks!
Thanks, so much, BigRTex, for making this a book ray! I really like this series and look forward to reading #5. Lindsey Boxer is one of my favorite female detectives. I would have liked to see a little more interaction between the girls in the club in this one, but it was still a good read. I enjoyed the short chapters; for some reason, I tend to read books faster that have short chapters. I guess it's because, like BigRTex, I am less reluctant to pick the book up when I have just a couple of minutes because I know I can finish a chapter. I will get this out to the next person on the list ASAP.
Mailed to Mothertoboys today in the book ray. Happy Reading!
This just came in the mail yesterday and I'm going to start it as soon as I finish my current book. I am going to try to get this out to the next bookcrosser on the list by the end of next week. Then I will start on The Fifth Horseman and get that moving along as well.
I just finished this book. I heard mixed reviews about this book but I have to say I did like it as much as the previous books.
Hopefully I'll be able to get it in the mail to the next person in line within the week. I'm just waiting on the address.
