This Book is Currently in the Wild!
3 journalers for this copy...
Couldn't believe my luck upon finding this in the specials bin. Chanced upon her other novel, "Yellow", also in the specials bin. A real shame cos it's a great read (although I'm happy!) This "explores the grim distortions that jealousy and desperation wreak on a friendship between two women" (from the Guardian).
Pretty dark and twisted. Maddy and Selina are two childhood friends who stick with each other through thick and thin. The question is though whether it's out of choice, habit or manipulation. Told from the perspective of Maddy, it asks the reader to consider how reliable her narration is. All in all quite interesting but definitely not "lovely" as the review from "The Face" claims!
Bringing along to August meetup.
Thanks hunnyb! This was briefly lost in the dubious order created in preparation for the landlord's quarterly inspection. Luckily all the books from the meetup ended up in the same place :-)
I may add this to the Unbalanced Erotica Bookbag.

Read in one sitting this morning when I really had better things to be doing. But somehow unexpectedly it was a page-turner, and I rushed to finish it (standing awkwardly in the street outside the very small post office at The Spot, Randwick, with three kilos of books dangling from one hand) before I sent off the Unbalanced Erotica Bookbag.
So likewise -- this isn't exactly lovely. I felt very close to the narrator though, and mourned not so much for her dying lifelong friend as for her own increasing coldness. The writing is unsophisticated but flows very easily, and I love the author's eye for detail.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
Another unorthodox addition to the Erotica Bookbag, to go along with Sin. I hope the bookbag police don't get too narky about its limited eroticism. It *is* a worthwhile book.

Being last in the Erotica bookbag list I've ended up with this book. As there were a large number of books that came with it, I've had to sort which ones I will read, and which ones to pass on. With this book, and looking at the past journal entries - I might as well read it.
At first glance this looked like a non fiction book. So glad it is not, because there were 3 other non fiction books that ended up in the book bag - which will be very hard to get rid of.
Ah sprung Xoddam! You were the one who added "Sin" into the bookbag. That's one of my registered books. Now I've got to go and re release it one again. Good to see that "Sin" is still doing well.

I'm doing a mass clean out of my TBR pile - so I'm sorry to say that I'll be releasing this book without having read it.
