Having rescued the Orb, Garion and his group have only just started their destiny. Castle of Wizardry, Enchanters' End Game brings the Belgariad to a conclusion as Torak is about the awakened for the final confontation.

I think my favorite thing about this series is the really wonderful dialog. Considering all of the different ethnic groups, each with their own manner of speech I love how individualised each characters speech patterns are. Generally you could identify any given quote by how it is said

Arrived in the mail today! I'm looking forward to reading the series!

Wow! Great ending to the series! I'm almost sad to leave the characters behind now as I've grown attached to them. Volume 2 begins with a culmination of events, right where Volume 1 left off. It left me thinking, how can they top this? But then there was the build up to the final confrontation and all unresolved questions are answered and loose ends tied up. I appreciate the author not ending with the final battle, but actually letting us know what happened to the characters next. I enjoyed this series immensely! Thank you omly for making it available to us.

I have e-mailed midwinter for her address and received it. She is right in the middle of moving, so I will wait a few days before I post the books to her. I want to make sure she has access to her new mailbox and address before I drop them in the mail.

I'm going to send book 2 along w/ book one tomorrow morning, then read my bf's copies of the books and edit this journal entry with my final thoughts. No need to hold up the ring, as I should be finished with at least Castle of Wizardry by the time these books arrive in Canada.

Watch this space for an update soon :)

Once I finished the first volume, I began this one without a pause. It was wonderful to read the whole series like that. I enjoyed the story immensely and now I'm off to find The Mallorean and read that too!

Mailed to billhookbabe today.

Journal Entry 9 by billhookbabe on Saturday, December 24, 2005
Both books arrived in the post today. I have two books to read beforehand, and will start these straight after. This series will be my first reading of 2006, what a great start.

Enjoyed this second part of the series though not as much. I got bored with the military manouverings and the silliness between characters and their relationships. I found the ending OK though, and happy that not all the loose ends were tied. I was wondering what would happen to Madorollean's relationship. All in all a good series.

Just arrived together with volume I. It'll take me a while to get to (not the least because volume I will keep me occupied for a few days), but I'm sure I'll like it when I do.

Journal Entry 13 by RonOren from Wassenaar, Zuid-Holland Netherlands on Monday, February 13, 2006
I'm not quite sure why, but this one was less enthralling than the first book. Maybe the novelty of it wore off, maybe it's the fact that the group split up and the story necessarily got fragmented. Although, as the latter goes, I have to say that the book flowed back and forth between the two stories quite well. Maybe it's just that volume I was too much, had too spectacular an ending and was not that easy to top.

I can't shake the feeling that this volume carried on a little longer than necessary. It was still pretty good: I liked the way Ce'Nedra turned out to be more than just a spoilt brat (although not that much more) and the battle scenes were quite nice at times. But it all got a bit tedious: the battles were just a bit too long and the whole issue of Garion's marriage was just too much!
I did love the queens, though! Especially the one that got rid of the Tolnedran ambassador by shamelessly using her kids (can't remember which one she was) was hilarious :-).

Having said that, I still enjoyed it, and I think it was a good ending to the story. In fact, I am somewhat interested in reading the Malloreon (which seems to be a sequel to this series). So, once again, thanks for letting me read this one, omly.

I have asterw's address, so I should be able to send these books off sometime soon (weekend-ish).

Just sent it off to asterw. Hope you'll enjoy it!

I got the books (volume 1 and 2) today. Actually, they had arrived since last friday, but as the package was quite big, it wouldn't fit into my mailbox and the porter kept it. Today I managed to "escape" from work a bit earlier, so I had the chance to meet the porter before he left and he gave it to me ;o)

It's a good thing that the books arrived just as I finished the book I was reading, especially since I've been wanting to read a fantasy book now! So I'll just start reading them right away!

Thanks RonOren for mailing them to me...
