3 journalers for this copy...
I liked this author's other works....somehow I missed this one when it came out....
I am reserving this book for CAligula03, who I have gotten to know via BCUK and through Support, where she has been most patient with me, in both places!
Bumping up the list to read....SOON!
Bumping up the list to read....SOON!
I have tried to read this book, but despite my affection for the author, have just not been able to get into it right now. So, I have decided to pass it along to CAligula03, unfinished, with the promise that if I ever stumble upon another copy, and do read the book through, I shall come back here and update this journal entry.
Enjoy!
Off in the mail this Thanksgiving week.

Oh wow! What a wonderful surprise! I remember when Ms Vreeland first got published and she lamented that her first book had gone directly to paperback. She said she'd feel like she had made it as an author if her books were published in hardback. So it's a delight to hold one of her books in hardback. I wonder if she's still teaching ceramics and creative writing at my old high school? :)
TBR. Offering to Cinnamon-Girl as a reverse relay.

The Forest Lover comes in as my second favorite of Vreeland's books (the first being The Girl in Hyacinth Blue. Over all I liked the story but the tragedy of Sophie Frank began to drag down the book both in mood and pacing.
