What a depressing story. No wonder I was feeling so down myself these last few days.
It's the story of two very different couples, Delaney and Kyra Mossbacher and Candido and America Rincon. They live very close in the Topanga Canyon, but their worlds are as far apart from each other as possible. Delaney and Kyra are white and rather rich, but not too happy. Candido and America are Mexican and very poor. Both couples are having every possible bad luck imaginable and their fate gets worse and worse until the final showdown.
Definitely not a book one should read to be entertained...
