Bought as a '3 for 2' offer. Was the title that caught my eye. Any excuse to read about another favourite hobby...visiting Tea Rooms....!!!

What a lovely easy read. Based around 'The Tea House' it tells the story of the lives of those who use the tea house.

Penny who owns the shop with her husband Daniel but is hoping for a change in how they run the place. Brenda, the would be artist, struggling to make ends meet but ever hopeful she will one day meet Nicholas Cage. Sadie finds refuge in her indulgence of scoffing back the famous cherry cheesecake and in so doing takes away the truth about her husbands infidelity. Clare who returns home and seeks to find her first love. Henry, who suffers quietly on his own, with his wife's obsession of creating a group called 'the Bronte Bunch' and holding readings in her new conservatory. They all intermingle with one another but they all have the one thing in common 'The Tea House'. Sometimes a wee bit sad and others funny.

You do hope it all works out for those concerned.....but you will have to read it to find out.

This was a reasonably quick read, and although to start with I had difficulty in remembering who was who (there's quite a few different characters in it), I soon got into it. Quite a feel-good book that makes you want to find out what happens to everyone and ends with a smile. I don't think I can say anymore without giving tooo much away!
I have PM'd lellie today and it will soon be on its way. Thank you INVER.

Sorry, couldn't really get interested in this, although I gave it several shots. I did however pass it to my mum who is staying with me at present while building work is going on at her place. She has almost finished it and tells me she is more than capable of making her own journal entry..... Woooo!!
Will be passed on, hopefully at the weekend when I go to the Post Office.

My apologies for barging into this bookring uninvited. I am staying with lellie, my daughter whilst building work on my 'granny annexe' (builders term, not mine) is going on at my other daughters house.
I read about four books a week and was running out of reading material when lellie gave me this one.
On the whole, not a bad read although very lightweight and I can understand why lellie didn't take to it.
I've handed it back to lellie to post on.

Despite my screen name, this kind of anodyne writing is a long way from my usual kind of literary fare. I surprised myself by really enjoying it! I sat down last evening to read "just a few more pages", and ended up finishing nearly half the book.

It is very easy and undemanding read, with short chapters, lovely characters, interesting situations, and some clever plotting by Ms Owens to get the characters to where they were eventually meant to be.

My only gripe (and this is where my nit-picking obsession with reality comes in) is that some of the behaviour displayed by Daniel and Brenda, for example, would surely have got them certified and/or arrested. The chapter on Brenda and the melons was way OTT!

Thank you to Inver for making this book available as a bookring. Am PMing loribee for her address today, so that hopefully, it will be on its way again soon.

Looks very promising, lovely cover. I shall have an excuse to meet birmingham-rose in a tea/coffee house to pass it on!

I've finally read this now and I am so glad that I did. I really enjoyed the sweet storyline and the way that all the characters interacted, and the explanations of the backgrounds. I don't want to give away the ending but lets just say it was a wonderful and cute ending.
Will be returning this book home now - back to Inver.

Borrowed this from The Dunedan. Took a while for me to get into it but soon got used to the characters and wanted to find out what happened to them all.
