RELEASE NOTES:
Many thanks to Lightdancer who caught the book for me and handed it over just a few minutes ago!
Lately I start to like such books a lot :) So I think I will find time soon to start reading!
When artist Tracy Warner purchases the rambling seaside house built above Dominic St. John's hidden lair, he recognizes in her spirit the woman he has loved countless times over the centuries. Drawing her into the fascinating, seductive world of the vampire, he aches to believe that this time she will not refuse his Dark Gift. But when Dominic's ancient rival appears in Sea Cliff, hungry for territory and power, Tracy becomes a pawn in a deadly game. To save her--and the passion that burns between them--Dominic must offer..."A Whisper of Eternity.
A WHISPER OF ETERNITY combines a reincarnation tale with a vampire romance that promised more than it could hold.
It is a nice love-story but it misses the magical touch ...
Dominic is strong, sensual and intelligent, everything I would expect a vampire to be, but I can't understand his love for Tracy over the centuries.
She denied him the one thing he wanted and had waited for for centuries and then at the end when he does it, without her permission, she accepted it with no major blow up.... I mean she had freaked out more when Bryan was changed.
Some guidelines:
1. Please journal the book when it arrives (so we know it's safe and sound with you), once you read it (to let us know how you liked it) and when you ship it off (so we know it's on its way to the next reader).
2. Please PM the next person in line before shipping the book off, not only for the adress, but also to ask if they are still interested in the ray!
3. Try not to take longer than four to six weeks to read the book. But we all understand that sometimes life (and bookrings...) just happens. :-) In that case, please make another journal entry to let us know that the book is not forgotten.
4. Surface shipping is perfectly acceptable.
5. And the most important thing: Have fun!

Thanks for organizing this bookray Rianonne !
This book has arrived safely in Switzerland.. thanks for organizing this ring/ray!
After reading several vampire/paranormal book rings, (Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon and so far two of the Undead series by Mary Janice Davidson) this was an interesting new but perhaps more traditional take on the genre. Dominic, while having vowed to never force his beloved, has a decidedly dominant streak to him (is the name a coincidence?)and he is a pretty controlling guy, all things considered. I found Tracy a bit irritating somehow.. she seemed a bit shallow and artificial - a virtuous goody goody who manages to whip up breathtaking masterpieces in a matter of a few hours... Not terribly credible, somehow she didn't seem very real to me, as though she were just playing house in this story.
This being said, the pages did keep turning, and I enjoyed reading the book. Speaking of which, I'm a little concerned because when I received the book I noticed some of the pages are quite loose. Personally I am a fervent believer in bookmarks and never bend back a book, but I have the impression the spine is not in great shape. I toyed with the idea of trying to tape the pages, but wasn't sure how to proceed or if the owner would like that? Suggestions? (I guess this is your book, Riannone?) I'll be sending this on to Morgaine within the next few days - let me know asap if you want me to do anything other than warn Morgaine to handle the book gently.
Thanks so much for making it available.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
Ok, I've tried to tape the loose pages back in, but I confess I'm not terribly handy...It's not too horrible a job - I tried to just use a little tape at the crease top and bottom on the crucial pages. At anyrate, all the pages are in the book and if someone is cleverer than I at sticking pages, they're welcome to it.
It has now been posted on to Morgaine near Basel. Thanks so much again for this fun read and this ring.
Arrived safely here in Basel. I already forgot I joined this Ring! LOL Thanks for sharing, Rianonne, and thanks for sending, penelopewanders. Looking forward to read this!
I think this is one of those books I will not finish reading. I fought my way up to page 150 and then started to skim the rest of the book to see what's going to happen. However, this book definitely fails to capture me. Way too much sappy romance, (kisses are good, sure, but puhleeze, get it goin' in the sheets, guys!), too little action and suspense in general. In addition, I find the heroine and the hero irritating. I very much want to slap Tracy and if any guy would treat me like Dominic treated Tracy I would most likely stake him. ;-)
However, that's just me and I really hope the other readers will enjoy this book more than I did! I already PM'd the next participant for her adress.
Unfortunately, there came some more pages loose that I had to glue back into the book. And I fear it will happen again, no matter how careful it's being treated. :-(
giggogg asked to be skipped.
I PM'd dark-draco for their adress.

RELEASE NOTES:
On its way to dark-draco by surface mail.
Arrived today - and all in one piece stil! I've put it to the top of mount TBR.
I quite liked this! Ok, it's not the most riveting book I have ever read, but I kept the pages turning, finishing it in a couple of days. I think that whether you bought into Dominic loving Tracey through the centuries depends on whether you believe in true soul mates or not. I had no trouble buying into that! I did cringe when it was revealed who Bryan really was - clumsy, silly and really not necessary to the plot. But all in all, a good read and I'll definatly be tracking down more by this author.
Thanks for arranging the book ring - I will pass it on ASAP.

RELEASE NOTES:
EnJoy reading the book !!!!
A Whisper of Eternity was in the post today - since i already started it I guess I wont need that long to read the book.
Well, I liked it, I read it on a boring bus ride - perfect. It was exactly what I expected: a bit of fun with vampires, not exactly high literature, just some romance novel to escape the dreary november rain.
The book will travel to NeedSun shortly.
YEA! Arrived today. Thanks very much for including me. I was all caught up with my bookrings and now I am soooooo not again. LOL. Since April 10th, nine books arrived. I will get to this one pretty soon, though.
After seeing some of the reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It held my attention more than some of the other books I have read by this author. I think you have to expect a romance with vampires instead of a book about vampires with her.
Cheriepie asked to be skipped so I am going to mail this to Yvensong possibly tomorrow.
Edit May 11: Sent surface mail to Yvensong today.
This arrived safely and will start reading as soon as I finish The Willow Files.
Thanks for sharing, Rianonne!

I have mixed feelings over this one. Not much action and very little depth to the characters. I suppose that's why I very rarely read any romance novels. The leading man in this, a vamp, is controlling and a bit of a stalker. I didn't find him as appealing as vampires from other novels, even though they may have some of the same control issues. Maybe because the eyes we are looking at him through, Tracy's, is such a shallow character.
On the other hand, I did read this book in 3 days, and it was the perfect light read for the insane month-end we were going through at work.
Thanks for sharing this. I have pm'd the next reader.
Edit: June 9, 2007 -- Mailed 1st class to the next reader
Received this is yesterday's post. I have two small bookrings in front of this - but, I should be able to start this shortly.
Wow - I signed up for this a year ago and it really has seen the world before getting to me. I look forward to reading this.
Finished reading this book today – an alright, story. It gets back to the more traditional vampire myths. I agree with other Bookcrossers that the pursueing across centuries could have been explained more. A link somewhere between them. The ending was a little too neat, I did expect her to more upset. An O.K read
I have the next address; I’ll be passing this along shortly.
Opps. I forgot to journal that I put this into the mail on July 3rd. On the road again....
Arrived safe & dry in the middle of a strong thunderstorm. I have a couple of rings ahead of this one, but I should be started shortly. I'll be back when I finish it.
Sorry about the long delay but I found this book difficult. The first two-thirds of the story were hard to wade through and if I read the word "preternatural" one more time I thought I would scream. The last third improved and I zipped right through it. Tracy's indecision , Dominic's controlling and Bryan's whining all managed to annoy and irritate me. I don't think I'll be rushing out for more of Ashley's books.
All of that being said, many thanks to
Rianonne for sharing this book. This was a new author for me and I appreciate the chance to try her writing.
I've tried contacting
c-a-m through numerous PMs with no luck. I've also done an "ISO c-a-m" in the bookrings forum with no luck. Please let me know what I should do with the book now. Thanks.
I've never received an answer from c-a-m. Since this box fits this book type and I would like to pass it on, I'm including it as an extra in
LaRue's
Vampire Bookbox. Happy Reading!
Arrived in the Vampire Bookbox - looking forward to it.
